Rego Day – Saturday 17th March

Only 11 Days to go until we kick-off our 2018 season…

Between 12pm and 2pm this coming Saturday 17th March we will having our Final Registration day for those of you who have not yet signed up and those of you who want to join as a social member. We will set up in front of Southend Surf Club (on the grass up top), the BBQ will be cranking and so will the tunes so come down and enjoy a few snags and a cold drink and meet the crew.

If you cannot make it you can this Saturday you can still register online @ https://www.liveheats.com/southendboardriders. This option will be available until next Thursday 22/3. But with 85 people already registered don’t delay. We are limiting the number of surfers in each division this year to 24.

Finally this year we will be looking for surfers or parents who want to be Divisional Representatives. The divisional representatives main role will be to look after all the needs and wants of surfers and parents for their nominated division.

Reps main roles include

  • The main point of contact during club event
  • Welcome & introduce new surfers,
  • Point of contact for surfers and parents during events and also pass on all surfers feedback to the Contest Director and committee.

The more people that get involved the easier the day is. So if this sounds like something you would be interested in please let us know.

Have a great week and hope to see you down there on Saturday.

Event 6 wrap

A super clean 2-3 ft SE swell had us setting up on a pretty epic A Frame. Winds turned offshore at about 8am and stayed that way all day. With pumping waves on offer everyone came along with their A-Game. Plenty of epic heats with some of the highest heat scores we’ve seen in years. Standouts on the day included Monty Tait fresh back from Europe, Gully Thomas, Kyle O’Sullivan, Seamus Connon, Jackson Dennett, Luana Rubbo, Baylei McGuigan and Shira Arakawa. The Micros Groms surfed on the bank in front of the skate park and geez they were ripping too.
