Weave Kool Kids

Southend Boardriders are stoked that the ‘Weave Kool Kids’ are active members and part of our Boardriding Community club.  For the tireless Kool Kids staff and volunteers that make this all happen we applaud you as it’s often a thankless job.

For those that are a little unfamiliar with the program there is a little information below.

Weave’s Kool Kids Club (KKC) is an educational outreach and prevention program for children aged 7-13 years living in La Perouse and surrounding areas. Working with local schools the KKC provides FREE after school and holiday activity programs to support the development of resilience and life skills for children and young people.

KKC focuses on a strengths based perspective to improve school engagement and successfully tranistion into high school. KKC is an important community program that also builds connections with community and family.

Activities include: surfing, dance, short film projects, music workshops, sports, arts and cooking.

Over 85% of the children that attend Kool Kids Club identify as Aboriginal. Kool Kids Club is staffed by Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal youth workers.
