There was some really fun waves for the Comp 5 last weekend. With a nice 3ft swell on hand we set up on the peak in front of Northend Surf club. The winds were clean offshore early and the sun was shining and the crew were ripping. Plenty of great waves, plenty of big moves and plenty of upsets throughout the day so you couldn’t take your eye off what was happening in the water. Even when the wind swung onshore there was still so many fun waves and as the tide dropped out the right on the southern side of the contest area really started double sucking much to the pleasure of the older crew. The micros had a ball on the inside reforms just off stormy. Those little groms killed it. The smiles on their faces and just seeing how much they have improved since the start of the year makes it all worthwhile.
Finals time and the wind was into it but it created a heap of wedges. And despite the rippy conditions there were some great waves ridden. Well done to everyone who reached the finals. Congratulations to the Comp 5 winners

Thanks to everyone that came down to surf. Thanks to Carve Visionaries for the sunnies / caps and Maroubra Surf n Skate for all the prizes for all the groms. Also a huge thank you to everyone that helped through the day. We were a couple of troops down but everyone chipped in and a great day was had by all. We even got to the Sands to enjoy a cold refreshing ales during daylight which is a first for quite some time.
Keep ripping and catch you all down the beach for the next comp on the 19th September
