Things are shaping up well for the 2016 Southend Boardriders season. We are getting a lot of memberships through the website and had a big roll up at the first sign-on evening a few weeks ago. This year we will be a holding a second and FINAL registration day on Saturday April 2, from 9am to 11am on the grass at the front of South Maroubra Surf Club for those that couldn’t manage to register online……We will also have the 2016 club shirts ready for collection, so even if you have registered online drop past and grab your new shirt!

Regretably for 2016 we will need to introduce a ‘cap’ on the amount of surfers we can have in each division. It is not a decision we have taken lightly but a number of factors have forced us down this path. They include

• Club competitions can only be held on nominated date each month (3rd Sat each month)
• no ‘double banking’ We cannot run U/12’s on a separate bank to our other divisions
• Huge surfing membership 195 members in 2015 and 3 yr avg of 190 surfer

As always our main focus is to ensure we run a great competition for all surfers but all these factors simply mean we will not have enough daylight hours to get through all of the heats in 1 day.

Also to utilise every minute of daylight at Comp 1 on the 16th April we will not be accepting any membership payments or entries at the beach on the morning of comp 1. So it is important as ever to jump online and grab your membership today so you don’t miss out. Online registrations and payment can be made via our website www.southendboardriders.com.au prior to Monday April 12.
