In conjunction with Surfing NSW, we have arranged a Surfers Rescue 24/7 course solely for the Ladies of Southend Boardriders this Thursday evening at 5pm. The course is entirely FREE and includes a surf board rescue component and a CPR component and we all female members to be a part of it. There are no special skills required to take part in the course however you will learn some fantastic skills that may just save a life.

About Surfers Rescue: Surfers Rescue 24/7 is a FREE surfboard rescue & CPR course for NSW recreational surfers. The award-winning course teaches crucial board rescue techniques that can be used to assist in an emergency situation and could ultimately save a life! These simple yet proven rescue techniques have been designed and endorsed by NSW Professional Lifeguards, The Australian Lifeguard Service (ALS), Surf Life Saving NSW (SLSNSW), and some of the world’s most elite surfing professionals.

We know surfers are in the water 365 days a year from dawn until dusk and are most often the first to assist in emergencies. With only 4% percent of all beaches patrolled by professional &volunteer lifeguards, surfers are our biggest asset when saving lives and the techniques taught have been proven to save lives!

We are encouraging recreational surfers of all skill levels to do the Surfers Rescue 24/7 course to learn these techniques, as well as be trained in CPR. With less than 10% of all Australian’s being trained in CPR, these skills can be used anywhere to help save lives!

The Surfers Rescue 24/7 course consist of 2 x components:

• Surfboard Rescue Course, learning basic rescue techniques using the equipment surfers already have on hand (their surfboards) – this only takes around 1.5 hours.
• Accredited CPR Course – approx. 2 hours.

*Please be suited up in wetsuits and ready to get in the water by 4.50 pm ?

Location: Maroubra Beach . Meet at the Surfing NSW office (The Pavilion, Level 2)

Requirements: Surf board (or at least 1x board between every 2 surfers) wetsuit/swimmers & towel. 

Cost: FREE for participants funded by Surfing NSW

CPR Component:

Time: 6.15pm -8.15 (approx.)
