Just a reminder that we have a Southend Boardriders Club Pointscore competition scheduled for this Saturday (October 06) at Maroubra Beach. This comp is a replacement for the previously booked July 21, 2018 pointscore that needed to be rescheduled due to a beach booking clash with Council.

It seems like forever since we last competed as a club and it looks like there will be a few waves around for it. At this stage the forecast is looking to be around 3-4ft of S/E swell with S/W to South winds so hopefully we can get a window of decent waves out of the wind south of the pavilion. We want to make sure we have cracking day on the beach before heading up to The Juniors at Malabar (previously Malabar RSL)  where we will put on some refreshments and food for members and family.

Registration is now ‘Open’ so make sure you go to https://www.liveheats.com/southendboardriders/ and click ‘ENTER COMP’ to register to surf in the event. Entries will close Friday October 7 at 3pm so we can draw the heats for the day.

The plan for the day at this stage is to have Junior boys in the water first up with the first heat kicking off at 7.30am. With low tide predicted to be at around 11am we will aim to run the Micros and Junior girls around then. Micros don’t need to register via ‘Live Heats’ and just need to sign-on during the day prior to cutoff. For this particular Pointscore event Micro boys/girls & Cadet girls will need to sign on prior to 10.30am (cutoff). We will have a lunch BBQ going at conclusion of the micros/cadets girls so come down and grab something to eat and say G’day.
