As you will all know, Southend member and all-round nice guy Karl Melo-Richards went missing on Friday September 2 from his home on Broome Street. No-one is sure what happened or where Karl is, but on behalf of Southend and the local Maroubra surfing community, we’d like to say “ Karl we love you mate and want you back at Maroubra shredding the waves with the style and grace you are renown for”. Please send your love and thoughts to Dave, Vanessa, Kirra and all of Karl’s family and friends at this very difficult time.
If you saw Karl on that rainy Friday afternoon or know anything at all that could help, please call Maroubra Police on 9349 9299.
It’s also important for us all to remember to look out for each other like the brothers and sisters of a close surfing fraternity should. Depression doesn’t discriminate and it’s so easy to get so caught up in our lives that we can forget to make sure those around us are going okay. If you or someone you know needs some help, call Lifeline on 13 11 14
