On Wednesday Feb 19, Southend member Jordan Gilbert will be attempting to catch 100 waves! Yep, 100 waves in one day…
This is in support of Anglican Aid, and all money raised will go to Projek Bali Kids (http://anglicanaid.org.au/project/projek_bali_kids). He’ll be teaming up for just one day of Anglican Aid’s 100 Beaches Challenge (http://anglicanaid.org.au/100-beaches-challenge).
You can get involved with this crazy effort by sponsoring Jordan for 25c, 50c, or $1 per wave surfed, and if he does indeed reach 100 a 10% bonus. A successful ride needs to be at least 2 seconds long, and there’ll be no kooking it by simply standing up and jumping off – that’s not Jordan’s bag 🙂
100 is a big number, especially when he’ll be paddling out at ten different beaches from Little Bay up to North Bondi.
As well as the surfing challenge there will be an info evening on February 19 at St Johns Maroubra where you can hear from 2x Pipe Master Larry Blair about surfing Pipeline with nobody out, and from Anglican Aid’s David Mansfield about the work they’re doing. It’s free and supper is provided. Get on it.
All funds raised will go to Anglican Aid’s Projek Bali Kids. Please consider the sponsorship options or feel free to contact Jordan about simply donating to the project. And head along to Wednesday night Feb 19, 7:30pm at St Johns Maroubra. He’ll announce on the night, and by email on the 20th, the tally for the day.
Jordan can be reached at jordan@empireplans.com.au or 0402 844 843.
